Women’s Volleyball Dominates L.A. Pierce

TORRANCE, Calif. – Nine different players registered a kill for No. 5 El Camino College in a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-7) non-conference win over L.A. Pierce Friday night at the ECC South Gym.

The Warriors (19-2) extended their winning streak to nine games and recorded their sixth straight sweep, holding the Brahmas (1-10) to a .021 attacking percentage.

Renee Brydon, Deann Smith, Sophia Loiola and Meris Ewell all tallied five kills to lead the Warriors offensively. Caitlin Donatucci dished out 12 assists while Keri Isara dealt out nine helpers with Kelly Donatucci adding a season-high six assists in the victory. The Warriors recorded 11 service aces with Isara and Ewell leading the way with three apiece.

The Warriors trailed briefly in the first and second sets but surged late in each set to take a 2-0 lead. In the final set, the Warriors dominated as they led by as much as 19 points and held the Brahmas to single digits in the frame to secure the win.

The Warriors will wrap up their regular season home schedule on Wednesday as they host L.A. Harbor at 6 p.m. on sophomore night.
