Warriors Sweep Chaffey On the Road

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - El Camino College defeated Chaffey College in straight sets (25-18, 25-15, 25-19) on Friday evening at the Sicosky Gym.

Phina Leilua led the Warriors with her 7th double-double of the season (15 kills, 10 digs).  Leilua also had 2 blocks for the evening. Meris Ewell had 7 kills and 2 digs. Caitlin Donatucci led the Warriors with 20 assists, Keri Isara had 11 assists. Kelly Donatucci had 16 digs and 4 assists

After a slow start to the first, El Camino College went ahead 21-16 before a Chaffey timeout.  They were able to finish out the first set at 25-18.

The Warriors dominated the start of the second by taking a 17-4 lead.  However, they let the Panthers back into the set to make it 24-15 before Phina Leilua came up with a block to finish out the set.  

The third set was a close affair as the Warriors once again held a 21-16 lead before a Chaffey timeout.  They pushed their lead to 23-18 before Chaffey's timeout and eventually finished out the set 25-19.

The Warriors will look to make it six wins in a row on Wednesday, October 24th in the ECC South Gym vs Rio Hondo College.  The game is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM.
