Warriors Claim Fourth Straight Win with Sweep over Chaffey

TORRANCE, Calif. – No. 15 El Camino College never trailed on Friday night and recorded its fourth straight victory with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-8) sweep over Chaffey in a South Coast Conference Crossover match at the ECC South Gym.

Aiko Waters led the way for the Warriors (15-4) with 13 kills with a .346 attacking percentage and Sarah Dyer dished out 20 assists while setting the team to a collective .319 percentage. Renee Brydon was very efficient with eight kills and only one error while recording a team-high four blocks (two solo). The Warriors also tallied six service aces from six different players in the victory.

The match started out with four straight points for ECC, three of them on Chaffey errors. The Warriors stretched out the lead to 10-3 before the Panthers narrowed the gap with four straight points to make it 10-7. But the Warriors responded with a 10-2 run to take control of the set and eventually took a 1-0 lead.

The following set was a similar story as the Warriors jumped out to a 10-2 advantage and never looked back to take a 2-0 lead.

The third set belonged to Waters and the Warriors as the sophomore tallied six kills on eight swings without an error and Brydon had three kills on all three of her attempts as the team attacked at a .556 clip (11-1-18) in the final set.

The Warriors will resume SCC-South Division action on Wednesday night as they welcome Cerritos to the ECC South Gym. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
