Volleyball Adds Two More Sweeps at Long Beach Tournament

Long Beach, Calif. - Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Brydon (Torrance, Calif.) led the Warriors (3-0) to sweeps of San Diego Mesa and Southwestern at the Long Beach Tournament on Saturday.

Set scores were 25-10, 25-14, 25-21 against San Diego Mesa, and the Warriors held Southwestern to only 12 points in all three sets.

Brydon hit .441 on the day with 29 kills, while freshman outside hitter Aiko Waters (Lawndale, Calif.) was close behind with 25.

Defensively, sophomore Brooklyn Rubio (Torrance, Calif.) counted 20 digs on the day, while Brydon paced the defense at the net with eight blocks.

Setters sophomore Nina Wyer (Torrance, Calif.) and freshman Megan Lim (Torrance, Calif.) split duties on the day with Wyer counting 42 assists against San Diego Mesa and Lim tallying 20 against Southwestern.

The women's volleyball team returns to action at Cypress on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m.
