The Warriors Travel To CSU Los Angeles Invite

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The El Camino Men and Women Track & Field teams competed in the CSULA Invitational, bringing together quality competition from the CCCAAA and Universities. The competition consisted of: Mt. SAC, Cerritos, SD Mesa, Saddleback, El Camino, Glendale, San Bernardino, Fullerton, West LA, Long Beach, Golden West, Southwestern, CSULA, Cal Poly Pomona, LMU, CSU San Marcos, Cal Baptist, CSU Bakersfield…and others.

Sophomore Nicole Clark won the Javelin with a throw of 139'0. Clark remains the current state-leader.

Sophomore Justin Alexander placed 2nd overall in the 400 Intermediate Hurdles in a state-leading 53.08.

Sophomore Yazmine Al-Uqdah tied for 2nd in the High Jump at 5-2½.

Sophomore Travis Heinemann placed 6th overall (2nd CCCAA) in the Javelin with a throw of 159-4. Twin brother Kevin Heinemann was 10th overall in 154-6.

Both Men and Women 1600m Relay Teams placed 3rd with the women in 4:07.33 (anchored by Victoria Porter) and the men 3:22.85 (anchored by Justin Moore).

Sophomore Solomon Kanehailua placed 3rd overall (1st CCCAA) in the 5000m.

Sophomore Israel Cardona placed 2nd in the CCCAA in the 1500m in a personal best of 4:02.55.

The Warriors Track & Field Teams compete next at the UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational March 17th and 18th. The UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational is another outstanding, competitive meet, which invited only a few CCCAA teams with many east coast teams.
