Warriors Wrap Up Final Day at CCCAA State Championships

MONTERREY PARK, Calif. – El Camino College finished 19th overall on the women's side and 22nd on the men's side of the California Community College Swimming and Diving State Championships held at East Los Angeles College.

The Warriors finished with 63 points on the women's side and 33 on the men's side. Sierra College recorded its first CCCAA State Championship on the women's side while Golden West secured the title on the men's side.

For the Warriors, Amber Sauer was the lone competitor for the day on the women's side. She finished in 12th place in the women's 1650 freestyle event, posting a time of 18:55.43.

Jason Gottschalk logged a top-10 finish on the men's side for the Warriors, finishing 10th in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:02.18.

Lastly, Ryo Kagawa recorded a seventh place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:05.01.
