Day Two at CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships In the Books

MONTERREY PARK, Calif. – El Camino College stayed steady following the second day of competition at the California Community College Swimming and Diving State Championships at East Los Angeles College.

On the women's side, Jean Liu notched the top performance for the Warriors. The South Coast Conference champion in the 3-meter dive finished state in 11th place after posting a score of 150.40. The Warriors got a 13th place finish from the 200 medley relay squad after they posted a time of 1:56.76. College of San Mateo took the top spot in the event with a time of 1:48.78. The 800 freestyle relay team finished in 14th place after posting a time of 8:34.34, with San Diego Mesa taking the event with a time of 7:50.68.

Cindy Ngo recorded a 15th place finish in the 100 butterfly after recording a time of 1:00.75, not far behind winner Emma Thomas of Palomar. The third-place finisher through 15th place finisher were separated by just .84 of a second. Amber Sauer also participated in the event and finished with a time of 1:05.13.

On the men's side, Ryo Kagawa placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke and the men sit in 26th place overall.

The Warriors wrap up the 2017 season Saturday at the CCCAA State Championships.
