Ngo Leads Warriors at Pasadena Invitational

PASADENA, Calif. -  Competing in the 17th Pasadena Invitational, Cindy Ngo had top finishes in the 50, 100, and 200 yard freestyle to lead the women's competition with an individual score of 76. The women's team had an 8th place finish, scoring a team total of 166, while the men's team had an 11th place finish (59.5).

Ngo dominated the 50 yard freestyle, earning 1st with a time of 25.03. Ngo also finished the 200 yard freestyle in 1st with a time of 1:58.39. Her third 1st place finish was in the 100 yard freestyle (54.08). She ended the 400 yard individual medley in 3rd place (4:54.94).

Amber Saur ended the 100 yard fly just three seconds behind the first place position to earn 2nd (1:03.64). She finished the 500 yard freestyle in 7th (5:33.63) while placing 9th in the 1650 yard free (19:32.80). Andrea Canchola followed in the 1650 yard free, coming in 14th (20:49.19).

Bethany Andrade placed 8th in the 100 yard breast, coming in at 1:17.13 and finished in 11th in the 200 yard breaststroke.

In the meter diving competition, Anrea Orozco-Sanchez represented the Warriors to finish in 4th (112.00). She finished the three meter diving competition in 5th place (102.50).

In the 500 yard freestyle for the men's division, Sean Hamada and Jason Gottschalk were the top placing Warriors, tying for 14th (5:07.27).

Ryo Kagawa came in 5th place in the 100 yard breast, finishing in 59.78 and tied in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.35 (15th). He came in 6th place in the 200 yard breast at 2:14.89.

In the 1650 yard freestyle, Gottschalk was the top ranking Warrior with an 8th place finish (17:32.79) and Joaquin Vargas came in 11th (18:14.62). Richard Beck came in right behind Vargas with a time of 18:18.73.

The Warriors will host the state qualifying diving competition on April 14th and 15th, the meet will begin at noon both days.
