Warriors Compete in SCC Dual Against Chaffey and Pasadena

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - The swimming & diving teams took several first place finishes as Chaffey College hosted the Warriors along with Pasadena City. The men's team won against the Panthers, 190-75 but lost to the Lancers, 162-98 to finish off the dual season 4-3. The women's team however ends the dual season 7-1, beating the Panthers 183-75 and the Lancers 156.5-101.5.

Jason Gottschalk took the 500 yard freestyle for the Warriors, placing 1st in 5:05.52. In the 1,000 yard freestyle he finished in 10:39.41 to place 2nd while also finishing 2nd in the 200 yard backstroke (2:17.74).

In the 100 yard breaststroke, Ryo Kagawa went on to place 1st with a time of 59.70, while finishing the 200 yard breastroke in 2nd. He also went on to finish the 200 yard individual medley in 2nd as well.

Tiana Pugliese participated in two events for the Warriors and finished in 1st in both events. She ended the 100 yard backstroke in 1:12.68 while finishing the 50 yard freestyle in 26.46. Amber Sauer also earned a 1st place finish, winning the 500 yard freestyle in 5:52.07. She also earned 2nd in 100 yard and 200 yard freestyle.

Cindy Ngo finished all her events in good standing, placing 1st in the 200 yard fly in 2:18.74. Ngo then placed 2nd in the 200 yard backstroke (2:23.27) and the 200 yard individual medley (2:21.47). Andrea Canchola took the 1,000 yard freestyle in 12:32.13 to take first, while Sabrina Bryne finished closely behind to finish in 2nd (12:58.17). Bryne then went on to end the 100 yard backstroke in 12:58.17 for 2nd place.

Two Warriors competed in the 1 meter dive which was won by Andrea Orozco-Sanchez who earned 1st in 138.25.

Next, the Warriors travel to Pasadena City for a 3-day invitational. The Warriors will then host the Conference/Regional Diving Championships on April 14th and 15th.
