ECC Women's Swimming Place 7th In The Mt. SAC Invitational And The Men Place 12th

WALNUT, Calif. – The El Camino men and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Walnut this past weekend, competing in the Mt. SAC Invitational to start their season. The women took 7th place while the men were 12th.

Freshman Ryo Kagawa won two events, 50 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke. In the 50, Kagawa finished in 27.28. In the 200, he finished in 2:14.29. Kagawa also finished 2nd in the 100 individual medley (56.24) and the 100 breaststroke (1:00:77).

Jason Gottschalk finished 2nd in 1650 free in 18:04.11.

For the women, Cindy Ngo finished in the top 8 in all of her events. In the 100 individual medley, Ngo finished 3rd in 1:05.55.

Coach Corey Stanbury was pleased with the teams' success stating, "the team had a lot of good swims."

The Warriors will face Rio Hondo and East Los Angeles in a tri-meet on Friday at Rio Hondo.
