Six Warriors Recieve All Conference Honors

TORRANCE, CALIF. - Six El Camino College women's soccer players were given All-South Coast Conference honors, as the All-South Coast teams were announced on Thursday evening.

El Camino College had three players named to the All-SCC South First Team and three players named to the All-SCC Second Team.

Nalleli Mendoza was named to the All-SCC South First Team.  After appearing in 10 games without a goal last season, Mendoza was one of the best players on the pitch for the Warriors.  She tied for the highest amount of goals scored on the team with 9 and tied for 6th in the conference. She also had five assists to add to her offensive prowess and led the team with 23 points.  She had the 5th most points in the conference and was first in points from a player not at Cerritos College.

Jennifer Villareal was named to the All-SCC South First Team.  The midfielder appeared in 15 games and started in 11 of them. She was the general of the team's midfield.

Ashley Hannah was named to the All-SCC South First Team.  The freshman defender and leader of the backline appeared in 20 games, and started in 19 of them.  She had one assist for the season.

Robin Riggs was named to the All-SCC South Second Team.  The sophomore appeared in 20 games and started in 19 of them.  She tied with Mendoza for the team led in goals (9) and tied for 6th in the conference in goals scored.  She also had two assists for the season and was second in the team with 20 points. She was 7th in the conference with 20 points. She scored a hat trick against Compton on 11/02.  

Blanca Gomez was named to the All-SCC South Second Team.  The freshman appeared in 17 games and started in 12 of them.  She scored one goal for the season against Compton (11/02) and finished with two points for the season.  

Izabel Gutierrez was named to the All-SCC South Second Team.  The team's stalwart right back appeared in 17 games and started in 15 of them.
