TORRANCE, Calif. - After suffering through an 8-game long losing streak, the Warriors finally had a positive week for the first time in a while.  They drew with LA Harbor on Tuesday and got a big win on Friday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field

El Camino College (5-12-1, 3-3-1) completely dominated Compton College (3-14, 0-6) for most of the game. Compton College only dressed 10 starters for the game and had to play short-handed for the entire game.

Robin Riggs led the offense by scoring a hat trick to give her the team lead in goals with eight.  Nalleli Mendoza assisted on four of the goals for the offense. Rosy Soriano and Blanco Gomez scored their first goals of the season.

After having almost all the possession for the first twenty minutes of the game, the Warriors finally capitalized on the situation in the 21st minute.  Mendoza passed the ball to Riggs on the left the 18-yard box and Riggs chipped the keeper into the upper 90 of the far post.

The Warriors made it 2-0 when Rosy Soriano scored on a corner kick by Mendoza.  The ball bounced across the box to a wide open Soriano who buried it into the back of the net.

The Warriors continued the onslaught of goals to start the second half.  Off a short corner kick, Mendoza passed to Liliana Chavez who then crossed a perfect ball to Blanca Gomez who guided the ball into the net for her first goal of the season.

The Warriors made it 4-0 quickly after that after Robin Riggs scored on a wide open header inside the 6-yard box off a Mendoza corner.

The Warriors then subbed off a few players to even things up with Compton.  The game finished with El Camino and Compton playing 8 vs 8.

Robin Riggs was able to complete her hat trick late in the game after dribbling from midfield and blasting a shot right under the crossbar into the net.

The Warriors will end conference play on Tuesday at Cerritos College.  Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
