Warriors Lose to College of the Desert on the Road

PALM DESERT, Calif. - The El Camino College women's soccer team suffered a 5-1 loss on Wednesday afternoon at College of the Desert

Fresh off Tuesday's victory over Compton College, the Warriors (4-5, 2-1-0) had to play their second game in consecutive days over 100 miles away at College of the Desert (5-5-1).  

The Roadrunners were able to grab two early goals within the first sixteen minutes of the game to give them control of the game.  Nalleli Mendoza was able to score a goal for the Warriors via an assist from Kimberly Bernal before halftime to cut the advantage to one.

However, the Roadrunners scored early in the second half to restore the two goal advantage before adding two more goals to complete the 5-1 route for the home team.

Joelle Niimi started in goal for the Warriors and made 4 saves in the first half.  Rosemary Montalvo started the second half and made six saves.

The Warriors will play their third game of the week on Friday at home against the no.1 ranked team in the state and country, Cerritos College. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
