Six Warriors Receive All-South Coast Conference Honors

El Camino College had six players earn postseason recognition as the All-South Coast Conference Team was released this week.

The Warriors had three players make the All-SCC South Division First Team and three players to make the All-SCC South Division Second Team. 

Maddy Simones was named to the All-SCC South First Team.  Simones scored twelve goals to lead the Warriors offense and also had an assist.   She led the Warriors in points (25) and was third overall in the SCC South division.  Simones was tied for second in the SCC South in goals scored and third in shots taken.  

Defenders Taylor Herm and Jennifer Vargas were named to the All-SCC South Division First Team as well.  They co-anchored a defense that allowed 1.40 goals per game.  They contributed to helping the team in keeping seven clean sheets during the season.  Herm started 18 games for the Warriors and tallied eight points on the season.  Herm scored three goals to go along with two assists.   Vargas started 18 game for the Warriors. 

Goalkeeper Isabel Rojas was named to the All-SCC South Division Second Team.  Rojas started 18 games for the Warriors at goalkeeper and had an 8-6 record with one shutout.  Rojas logged 1,260 minutes and made 82 saves to go along with a .782 save percentage and a 1.69 goals against average. 

Defender Ashley Lopez was named to the All-SCC South Division Second Team.   She was part of the defensive effort that kept seven clean sheets during the season and held opponents to 1.40 goals per game.  Lopez started in 11 of the 15 games she played in.

Midfielder Jodie Brennan was named to the All-SCC South Division Second Team.  This was her second time garnering All-SCC South Division honors.  Brennan started in 10 of the 15 games she played for the Warriors.  She earned two points during the season by assisting on two goals.
