Second-Half Spark From Riggs and Simones Leads Warriors to 2-0 Victory over Mt. Sac

TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College continued their perfect start to October with a 2-0 victory over Mount San Antonio on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field.

After a scoreless first half for either team, the offense came alive for the Warriors in the second half.

Robin Riggs scored her 5th goal of the season in the 53rd minute.  Carrisa Orellana passed the ball down to Monica Bernardino on the left sideline, then Bernardino crossed the ball into the box and Riggs one-timed her shot into the net.  

Maddy Simones continued her four-game scoring streak in the 60th minute with her seventh goal of the season.  After a defensive turnover at the top of the box, Simones shot from 25 yards out into the upper-90 far post over the goalkeeper.  

Isabel Rojas picked up her 6th win of the season and was credited with three saves for the afternoon.

Through the month of October,  El Camino College has scored sixteen goals and has only conceded two goals.  

The Warriors will look to continue their five-game winning streak with another home contest on Friday, October 20th.  The Warriors will face East Los Angeles College at 4:00 PM on the El Camino Soccer Field.
