Castaneda, Ponce and Tsukahira Make All-Conference Team

TORRANCE, Calif. --- Brandy Castaneda, Teena Ponce and Christina Tsukahira were all named to the 2022-23 All-South Coast Conference, South Division Team, it was announced last week.

Castaneda earned her second straight selection to the All-SCC First Team after averaging 20.7 points per game during the season. She also grabbed 8.4 rebounds a game and had 3.3 steals per game.

She became the all-time ECC leader in points per game average both for a single season (20.7) and a career (18.0).

In 2022-23, Castaneda recorded two game of 30-plus including a career high 34 points on Jan. 13 against East Los Angeles. She also scored 20-plus points 15 other times during the season.

She played and started in 26 games for the Warriors and, for her career, played in 51 total games, all starts. She shot 76.9 percent from the free-throw line with an average of 8.2 attempts per game this season. Overall, she shot 75.8 percent from the line for her career on 6.5 attempts per game in two years.

Ponce played in 27 games for the Warriors as a freshman and made 25 starts. She averaged 6.6 points per game and 1.1 steals per game. Tsukahira played in 27 games for the Warriors and averaged 9.2 points a game with 1.9 steals a game and a team-best 2.4 assists per game. She was also third on the team with a 6.0 rebounds per game average.
