TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College dropped a 78-58 non-conference decision to visiting L.A. Trade Tech on Wednesday evening at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors (4-11) were shorthanded for the final 12:39 of regulation as injuries to Nalani Higa and Brandy Castaneda left the team with just four active players.

The Beavers (11-9) had four players in double figures with Alyssa Ke leading the way with 24 points. Leah Sayned added 17 with 10 rebounds.

Christina Tsukahira led the Warriors with 16 points and dished out a career best eight assists in the loss. Castaneda finished with 15 points and four rebounds before exiting the game at the 2:39 mark of the third quarter after being hit in the face on a drive.

The injury came after Higa suffered a gash on her head while fighting for a rebound. Both cuts could not be suitably closed up and both players missed the rest of the game, leaving ECC with just four players in the final quarter.

The Warriors were down by 17 at that point and they never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way.

The team will regroup and head on the road to take on Mt. San Antonio at 5 p.m. on Friday evening.
