Warriors Drop Game against Cerritos

TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game against Cerritos College in a 64-53 loss at home on Friday night at the ECC Gymnasium.

After Friday's original tilt against East Los Angeles was postponed and Cerritos's game against Pasadena City College, the Warriors and Falcons came together to play the game.

Brandy Castaneda led the Warriors with 20 points and Jaden Sanderson had 13 points.  Ilani Avila led the Falcons with 27 points.

In a game with the Falcons starters marred in foul trouble for most of the night, the Warriors easily had their opportunity to stay in the game but they shot 14-30 from the charity stripe and had 23 turnovers that led to 21 points for the Falcons.

After trailing for most of the night the Warriors were able to keep the game within 5 points to start the fourth quarter at 45-40.  Castaneda made the first basket of the quarter on a  3-pointer to make it a 2-point game but that was the closest the Warriors would get the rest of the game.

The Warriors are scheduled to play in their final non-conference game in a game with Mt. Sac at home next Friday after Wednesday's game against Pasadena City College was postponed.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
