The Warriors held the Pirates to 28.1 percent shooting and scored 19 points off 17 Ventura turnovers. The free-throw line was also a big factor for ECC as the Warriors made more free throws (18) than Ventura attempted (15).

It was a tight game throughout as it featured seven ties and six lead changes. The Warriors would pull away late after Ventura pulled within a point at 48-47 with 4:07 left. The Warriors would answer with a 9-0 scoring run to take a 10-point lead with 1:08 left, the first and only double-digit advantage for either team in the game.
