TORRANCE, Calif. – Kayla Bibb and Amiete Nyingifa had solid outings as No. 15 El Camino College upended Bakersfield 65-42 in a non-conference contest Tuesday night at the ECC North Gym.
Bibb led all scorers with 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and recorded three steals and three blocks while Nyingifa pulled down a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Warriors (12-5) to their third straight win. Hunter Noa also tallied double figures with 13 points and Makenna Peneueta dished out eight of the team's 17 assists.
For the Renegades (5-11), Octavia Croney led the way with 15 points while Brianna Mendez tallied 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Warriors led the game wire-to-wire after scoring 13 seconds into the game. They outscored the Renegades 34-6 in the paint and outrebounded Bakersfield 55-37 including a 15-12 edge on the offensive glass. The Warriors converted those rebounds into a 15-3 edge in second-chance points.
The Warriors will look for their fourth straight win on Friday night in a big top-25 matchup as they host No. 3 Mount San Antonio at the ECC North Gym. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
