Three Players Tally Double Figures as Warriors Down San Diego City

Amiete Nyingifa and Hunter Noa led El Camino College in scoring as the Warriors hammered San Diego City 65-33 in the final game of the Wild West Shootout hosted by West Los Angeles College.

Nyingifa and Noa scored 11 points apiece to lead the Warriors (3-0) while Makenna Peneueta tallied 10 points in the victory. Nyingifa also grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the team and Nao Shiota scored eight points and dished out a team-high eight assists.

E'Maniee Powell led the Knights with nine points. Her 3-pointer opened the scoring in the game and put the Warriors behind for the first and only time on the night. Noa drained a 3-pointer to answer and tie things up and spark an 11-0 scoring run for the Warriors. They would never trail again and led by as much as 37 points en route to the victory. The defense held the Knights to just 11 first-half points including a two-point second quarters.  

The Warriors shot 37.5 percent (9-for-24) from beyond the arc and forced 18 turnovers that resulted in 24 points for ECC. The Warriors recorded 19 assists on 23 makes and their bench unit outscored the Knights reserves 17-6.

In three games at the Wild West Shootout, the Warriors outscored their opponents 205-153 and recorded a pair of victories by more than 20 points.

The Warriors will look to continue their hot start on Friday evening as they face off against Antelope Valley at Los Angeles Valley College. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
