Men Finish Second, Women Fifth at Saddleback Invitational
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. --- The El Camino College Track and Field team had a solid showing over the weekend at the Saddleback Invitational.
On the men's side, the Warriors had a second-place finish with 99 points as San Diego Mesa took the top spot.
The Warriors had several victories including:
- Anthony Taylor – 110 High Hurdles (14.62, Currently No. 3 in the state)
- James Neely – 800m (1:55.56, Currently No. 3 in the state)
- Lincoln Marschall – 400 IM (52.40, Currently No. 1 in the state)
- Taylor, Neely, Matt Irvine and Yuto Tamada – 4x400m Relay Team (3:20.20, Currently No. 5 in the state)
The men also saw second-place finishes from Isaiah Silva in the javelin, posting a mark of 157 feet-6 inches and the 4x100m relay squad of Taylor, Jaylen Allen, Xerxes Reamer and Marschall with a time of 41.66.
On the women's side the Warriors got a pair of victories from Alyssa Matsusaki and Ami Jacobson. Matsusaki won the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:05.18 and she currently holds the No. 1 mark in the state.
Jacobson took home the 5,000m title with a time of 18:38.12 and she is currently No. 2 in the state.
The Warriors will return to action this week at the LBCC Viking Invitational on Friday and the Ben Brown Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton on Saturday.
