Warriors Compete at South Coast Conference Prelims
TORRANCE, Calif. --- The El Camino College track and field team opened the 2022 South Coast Conference Championships with the prelims on Tuesday at ECC.
Some of the top performances on the women's side included:
- Sierra Stokes: 2nd place (100m – 25.60)
- Haidee Lopez: 4th place (10,000m – 44:41.45)
- McKayla Nored: 4th place (Hammer Throw - 31.45 meters / 103 feet, 2 inches)
- Yukina Hamachi: 4th place (100H – 15.37), 5th place (Javelin – 26.90 meters / 88 feet, 3 inches)
- Raina Gomaa: 5th place (800m – 2:27.26)
Nored, Hamachi and Lopez all qualified for the California Community College Athletics Association Southern California Championships to be held on May 6 (prelims) and May 13 (finals) at Moorpark College.
On the men's side, highlights included:
- Dominic Britton: 2nd place (110H - 15.33)
- James Neely: 2nd place (800m – 1:56.92)
- Jaylen Allen: 5th place (200m – 22.67)
- Kyvontei Campbell: 5th place (400H - 57.65)
The SCC Championship Finals will take place on Saturday afternoon at ECC with the first event scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
