Track and Field Competes at the Beach Opener

RESULTS

LONG BEACH, Calif. - On Friday and Saturday, the Warriors track and field teams competed at the Beach Opener hosted by Long Beach State.  The field featured NCAA Division 1 schools, NCaa Division II, NAIA, and other local juniors colleges including the host Long Beach State, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, Cal State Bakersfield, Pepperdine, Biola, Mt. Sac, Orange Coast, Cerritos.  The conditions were wet due to the inclement weather of the weekend.  

The Warriors had a couple standout competitors against strong competition for the day.  Christopher Pitts came in fourth place in the 400m race with at time of 49.89. Patrick Washington came in third place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.64.  Jordan Baylis tied for third place in the high jump after jumping 1.86 meters (6'1.25"). Lastly, the 4x100 relay team featuring Dharan Woods, Christopher Pitts, Qwintin Workman, and Timothy Mates came in third place with a time of 43.03 losing out to Long Beach State and UC San Diego's relay teams.  

The Warriors will have a split squad this weekend.  Some members of the team will compete at the Occidental College Distance Carnival and the Cal State Fullerton Ben Brown Invitational.
