Liz Cortez begins her second season on the Warriors coaching staff in 2024. 

She joined the Warriors staff in 2023 as the team went 25-18 overall with a 13-11 record in conference play. The Warriors advanced to the 3C2A SoCal Regionals.

Cortez played for the Warriors from 2019-22 including a COVID sophomore season in 2022. She appeared in 94 career games with 68 pitching appearances in the circle. Cortez was an All-South Coast Conference First Team selection in 2019 and a second team member in 2022. Her best all-around season came in 2022 when she appeared in all 42 games for ECC, batting .294 with a .326 on-base percentage and .405 slugging percentage. She tallied 37 hits including six doubles and four triples with 21 RBI. She also stole four bases and scored 17 runs. In the circle, she went 13-10 with 22 starts and 31 appearances overall. She tossed 134.2 innings and struck out 56 batters. She led the team in wins (13), complete games (10), innings pitched (134.2), and ERA (3.12). 

In her career, Cortez recorded 51 total hits and 27 runs scored with 33 RBI and 12 stolen bases. In the circle, she posted a 32-15 overall record in 68 appearances with 51 starts. She tossed 287.1 career innings and allowed 280 hits with 142 strikeouts and a 2.53 career ERA.
