Lewis, Hernandez Named NFCA All-Americans

2019 NFCA Cal-JC All American Team

LOUISVILLE – No. 4 El Camino College had two players named to the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association 2019 Cal JC All-American Team, it was announced Monday.

Sophomores Diamond Lewis and Jocelyn Hernandez each earned spots on the Cal-JC All-American Team after having spectacular seasons for the Warriors in 2019.

Lewis earned her second straight selection to the All-American Team as an infielder. The 2019 3CFCA Southern California Player of the Yearm who ranks third in the CCCAA with 33 stolen bases, is hitting .443 with 51 hits, 16 doubles, 45 runs scored and 29 RBI with 26 walks and a .559 on-base percentage.

Hernandez earned her first selection as a utility player after performing well both in the circle and in the batter's box. She owns a .414 batting average and matches Lewis with a team-best 16 doubles and 29 RBI. Hernandez is 15-1 with a 1.41 ERA in 104.1 innings of work. She also tops the staff with 23 appearances, 10 complete games and two saves.

The Warriors host No. 5 Fullerton College in the CCCAA Softball SoCal Super Regionals beginning Friday at 2 p.m. at the ECC Softball Field. The Warriors are making their fourth appearance in the Super Regionals in the last five seasons and are looking to clinch their second straight trip to the CCCAA State Championships.
