Softball Secures Tenth Straight Win

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College dominated Compton College with an 11-1 South Coast Conference, South Division victory Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.
The Warriors (26-6, 16-2) won their tenth straight game as they scored all their runs in the first three innings against the Tartars (7-25-1, 1-17).
Brooklyn Araujo went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored to lead the offense. Of the team's six hits, three of them went for extra bases with Araujo hitting a double while Diamond Lewis and Marissa Garza each hit a triple.
Emily Piera picked up her fourth victory of the season in the circle as she went three and 1/3 innings. She allowed one unearned run on just one hit and struck out two.
Kenia Lira recorded the final five outs, surrendering just one hit while striking out two.
The Warriors will return to action Wednesday afternoon with a road game against East Los Angeles. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
