Warriors Blank Falcons on the Road

NORWALK, Calif. -  Jocelyn Hernandez pitched a gem as the Warriors shut out the Cerritos Falcons on the road on Tuesday afternoon.

Hernandez drew the start for the Warriors (10-3, 8-1) and twirled 7 scoreless innings, allowing just seven hits, and striking out two batters.  Skyler Swearingen started in the circle for the Falcons (7-8) but was chased after just two innings of work, allowing four runs.

The offense pounded out ten hits as Diamond Lewis, Mina Nakawake, and Kassidy Robinson eached picked up two hits a piece.  Jocelyn Hernandez, Brooklyn Araujo, Sidra Montoya, and Belle Estrada were the others Warriors to pick up a hit.

The Warriors put a big four-spot up in the second inning.  Brooklyn Araujo belted a two run blast over the center field fence to make it a 2-0 game.  Sidra Montoya then singled and stole second base. Belle Estrada and Diamond Lewis each hit back-to-back doubles to make it a 4-0 game.  

The Warriors added one run in the 5th inning after Mina Nakawake led the inning off with a base hit.  She stole second base before Jocelyn Hernandez drove her in with a single to center field.

The Warriors added their last run in the 6th inning after Diamond Lewis hit an infield single and drove in Araujo.

The Warriors are scheduled to host Grossmont College on Wednesday, March 6th weather permitting.  If the game goes ahead, first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
