Softball Sends Eight to Next Level

TORRANCE, Calif. – Eight members of the 2018 South Coast Conference champion El Camion College softball team will move on to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level.

Alyssa Wing, Ashley Machado, Annie Adamos, Karla Calderon, Rylee Rehders, Jazmyn Sancen, Jasmine Krauss and Ronni Silas have will all move on to the four-year level after making history in 2018, helping the Warriors advance to their first CCCAA State Championship appearance in program history.

The softball team secured its third South Coast Conference, South Division Championship in 2018 after going 36-12 during the year and 11-1 in conference play. They advanced to the CCCAA State Championships after downing Santa Ana and Santiago Canyon in the CCCAA Regionals and Super Regionals respectively. At the CCCAA State Championships, the Warriors secured a win over College of San Mateo, the No. 1 team in the state at the time.

Karla Calderon | Oregon State

A two-year player for the Warriors, Calderon wrapped up her time at ECC with her best season. She played in 47 games and tallied 42 hits, batting .368 with a .438 on-base percentage and .474 slugging percentage. She had 10 doubles and one triple while stealing 20 bases in 24 attempts. For her Warriors career, Calderon played in 79 games and batted .340 with 53 hits and 34 RBI, stealing 27 bases.

Ashley Machado | San Jose State

The backstop for two years at ECC, Machado was named an NFCA All American this season after helping lead the Warriors to the CCCAA State Championships. The Warriors catcher batted .339 with 43 hits including nine doubles, six triples and two home runs, playing in all 48 games for the team. She stole 30 bases in 33 attempts and posted a 1.013 OPS for the Warriors in 2018. In her two seasons with ECC, Machado played in 93 games and posted a .369 career batting average with 87 hits including 18 doubles, 12 triples, four homers and 77 RBI. She stole 71 bases in 77 tries and recorded a 1.102 OPS.

Annie Adamos | University of Montevallo

A veteran of the ECC Softball Field, Adamos played in 83 games during her two-year career with the Warriors. As a sophomore in 2018, she batted .349 with 38 hits and 24 RBI, stealing 20 bases. She finished her Warriors career with 83 hits and a .386 career batting average with 13 doubles, one triple, three homers and 57 RBI. She also drew 36 career walks and stole 25 bases.

Alyssa Wing | UC San Diego

The 2017 South Coast Conference, South Division Player of the Year, Wing finished her career as one of the best players to come from the ECC Softball program. She played in 93 games in two seasons at ECC and posted a career .393 batting average with 97 hits including 25 doubles, five triples and four home runs. She drove in 74 runs during her career and stole 28 bases.

Jazmyn Sancen | Cumberland University

A solid player for the Warriors in 2018, Sancen appeared in 24 games and posted a .279 batting average. She hit her first career home run this season and finished the year with 12 RBI. She also went 5-for-6 in stolen bases and scored nine runs.

Jasmine Krauss | Cumberland University

Krauss played 65 games as a Warriors from 2017-18. She posted a career .333 batting average with 39 career hits including five doubles, one triple and two home runs to go with 27 RBI. She stole 25 bases in her career including a career-high 16 in 2018.

Rylee Rehders | Wentworth Institute of Technology

Rehders set a career high with 30 games played in 2018 and was utilized primarily as a pinch-hitter, pinch-runner and defensive replacement. In her two seasons with the Warriors, Rehders was perfect on the base paths with 10 stolen bases in 10 attempts including nine as a sophomore in 2018.

Ronni Silas | CSU San Marcos

Silas finished her career at ECC with a .280 career batting average, posting 30 hits including three triples. She tallied 17 career RBI and stole 21 bases in 25 attempts, including 14 as a sophomore.
