Four Warriors Receive 3CFCA Postseason Awards

Haley Reed, Alyssa Wing, Raelani Camez and Brigid Antonelli all earned spots on the 2017 California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association All-State and All-Region Teams, it was announced Wednesday.

Reed, Wing and Camez all earned 3CFCA All-State nods while Antonelli grabbed a spot on the All-SoCal team. Camez secured her second straight All-State nod after earning a spot on the 2016 All-State Team while Antonelli also got her second consecutive selection to the All-SoCal team.

The Warriors' three selections on the All-State Team matched Cypress for the most selections from one team in Southern California.

Paige Johnson (Antelope Valley) and Gaby Zucchiatti (College of San Mateo) each earned 3CFCA Player of the Year nods while Destiny Vazquez (Cypress) and Nalani Scates (Ohlone) were named the 2017 3CFCA Pitchers of the Year. Brad Pickler of Cypress College and Jim Fisher of San Joaquin Delta College each earned 3CFCA Coach of the Year honors.

Wing adds to her postseason accolades after being named the 2017 South Coast Conference-South Division Player of the Year. Wing put together an outstanding season in her inaugural campaign at ECC, batting at SCC-South Division best .491 while playing all 40 games during the year. She scored 38 runs, hit 12 doubles, three triples and three home runs to go with 40 RBIs. She led the Warriors with 14 multi-RBI games and tied for the team season high with an 11-game hitting streak. Wing's 82 assists on defense also led the SCC-South Division.

The 2017 SCC-South Pitcher of the Year, Reed made 29 appearances in the circle for the Warriors, making 23 starts. She posted a 16-4 overall record, leading the SCC-South in victories and tossed 141 and 2/3 innings, which ranked second in the division.

Camez batted .442 in 38 games this season and was second in the division and on the team with 32 stolen bases. She led the team and was second in the SCC-South with 52 runs scored and led the division with 10 triples on the year. Camez also recorded an 11-game hitting streak during the year and led the team with 15 multi-hit games including a four-hit performance. Camez reached base safely in 23 straight games at one point, tops on the team.

Lastly, Antonelli batted .383 in 39 games played for the Warriors. She tied for second on the team with nine doubles and five triples while driving in 31 runs and scoring 32. She was third on the team with 14 stolen bases and posted an 11-game hitting streak during the season.

The Warriors will host Riverside in the first round of the CCCAA Softball Southern California Regionals beginning Friday at 2 p.m. at Warrior Field.
