Warriors Score 13th Straight Victory with Win over L.A. Harbor

TORRANCE, Calif. – Jasmine Krauss and Karla Calderon each hit inside-the-park home runs and Haley Reed picked up her eighth win of the season as El Camino College defeated Los Angeles Harbor 11-2 in five innings in a South Coast Conference matchup Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors (22-5, 5-0) kept their winning streak going, snagging their 13th straight win and remained undefeated in conference play as they held the Seahawks (0-16, 0-6) to two runs, one earned, on five hits.

Krauss entered the game in the third inning as a pinch runner and wound up scoring twice while going 1-for-1 with two RBIs. She blasted an offering from Seahawks pitcher Nicole Gutierrez into the right-center field gap and motored all the way around the bases to score, driving in Julianne Adamos in the process.

It was the second of two inside-the-park homers as Karla Calderon smacked her first career homer in the third inning as she lifted a ball into right field. Rayanna McDowell lost the ball in the sun and the ball fell behind her and got all the way to the wall, allowing Brigid Antonelli to score as well as Calderon to make it an 8-0 game at the time.

Calderon finished the day 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Antonelli was 1-for-3 for the Warriors. ECC also recorded two triples on the day from Alyssa Wing and Kamryn Fisher while Reed hit a double in the game.

In the circle, Reed was nearly flawless after allowing two hits in the first inning. She retired seven straight batters after giving up her second hit of the first inning and struck out two. Brooke Sarro tossed two innings in relief and fanned three batters.

The Warriors return to action on Thursday as they head to Long Beach City to take on the Vikings on the road before returning home on Friday for a doubleheader against Citrus at the ECC Softball Field.
