Warriors Down Santiago Canyon for Eighth Straight Victory

ORANGE, Calif. – El Camino College recorded its eighth straight as the Warriors defeated Santiago Canyon College, 11-4, in a non-conference tilt Monday afternoon on the road.

The Warriors (17-5) scored in double-digits for the fifth straight game and the sixth time overall during their current winning streak. The Warriors also beat the Hawks (13-4-1) by seven runs and have now beaten opponents by an average of 9.5 runs per game during the season-long winning streak.

"It took a little while for our bats to come alive today," Warriors head coach Jessica Rapoza said. "But Haley Reed and our defense held SCC to limited runs and we finally exploded in the sixth and our offensive production the last two innings was really potent."

The Warriors return to South Coast Conference play at the ECC Softball Field on Tuesday afternoon as Long Beach City College makes its first trip of the season to El Camino.

"We have been, offensively, putting up runs so I'm hoping to take today's energy into tomorrow's matchup with LBCC," Rapoza said.
