Softball Wins Both Games in Fullerton College Doubleheader Matchup

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Warriors won both games in a doubleheader matchup against the Fullerton College Hornets. The Warriors took the first game 8-0 and the second 9-4.

Alyssa Wing hit 2 RBI for the Warriors in the first game with Raelani Camez and Ashley Machado both earning two runs. Camez and Machado scored their first runs in the first inning off throws by Wing and Haley Reed.

Machado scored her second run at the top of the third, stealing third base and then scoring off an error by the shortstop. At the top of the fourth, Camez hit a sac to get Rylee Rehders home for the Warriors.

The Warriors earned two more runs in the fifth inning. Kamryn Fisher hit a single to right field and with an error by right field, Reed was able to score. Jasmine Krauss then pinch ran for Fisher and scored off an error as well. Wing hit a sac in the sixth that brought in Camez and Karla Calderon earned an RBI when she ground out to shortstop in the final inning of the first competition.

Reed pitched five innings for the Warriors, giving up only three hits and throwing one strikeout in the first game of the day.

With both wins, the Warriors stand at 12-5 and will face conference opponent, EC-Compton Center (3-13) at home on Tuesday, March 7th. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
