Softball Wins In Five Innings, Defeating Chaffey College 12-4

TORRANCE, Calif. – The Warriors (6-2) faced Chaffey College Thursday afternoon, defeating the Panthers in five innings, 12-4.

The Panthers got off to a quick start in the 1st inning with 6 hits, scoring 3 runs.

In the bottom of the second, the Warriors got on the board with a two-out rally that scored 5 runs. Alyssa Wing started the rally with a triple. Annie Adamos singled bringing in Wing. After three batters walked scoring the third run, Rae Camez singled bringing in two more runs. The Warriors were up, 5-3 going in to the 3rd inning.

In the bottom of the 3rd, the Warriors had 6 hits. Reed kicked off the inning with a base hit. Brigid Antoneli singled bringing in Reed. Wing came in hot again with a double bringing in Antonelli. Adamos singled again bringing in Antonelli. Jasmine Krauss walked, and Kat Calderon followed with another base hit. Camez kept the momentum with a hit, brining in two more runs. The Warriors scored 7 runs in the 3rd inning, up 12-3 over the Panthers.

In the top of the 5th, the Panthers did not give up and had 4 hits, scoring another run, but their rally was not enough. The Warriors defeated the Panthers after 5 innings, 12-4.

The Warriors travel to Orange Coast College Saturday at 9am.
