Softball Bounces Back to Win 11-5 at Pasadena City College

PASADENA, Calif. - The Warriors came back from their previous loss to take a 11-5 win at Pasadena City College. Haley Reed hit a home run and two RBI with Raelani Camez and Alyssa Wing both hitting triples. El Camino stands 5-2 while the Lancers are 3-5 on the season.

The Warriors began the competition striking three runs in the first inning. Outfielder Camez succesfully got to first base after a bunt and then went on to steal second base while Ashley Machado was up to bat. Kamryn Fisher then hit a single to bring in Camez. Wing's triple brought home Reed and Fisher to earn two RBI. The Lancers responded with a run of their own before going into the second inning.

Not wasting any chances, the Warriors went on to score an additional four runs at the top of the second. Camez hit a triple that brought in an awaiting Kattya Calderon, Camez then made it home as well to earn two RBI off an error by the second basemen. Reed hit her home run as she batted to left field and earned two RBI as Machado, who was on second, also made it in.

In the third inning, each team scored a single run. Aleah Lacy made it to first base off an error by the pitcher and then proceeded to steal second base. Kassandra Hernandez then hit a ground out to shortstop that allowed Lacy to then get onto third. Kalderon earned the RBI with her ground out to second base which brought in Lacy. Jazmine Cabrera scored a run for the Lancers off a Warrior error to put the home team six runs behind the Warriors.

After a scoreless inning, the Warriors continued to stretch their lead in the fifth inning with runs by Brigid Antonelli and Raylauni Jones. Jones and Jasmine Krauss both earned RBI. Karina Moreno scored the run for the Lancers with Alex Howard earning the RBI.

Jones earned a second run after she hit a double and Rylee Rehders hit a single to give Rehders the RBI in the seventh inning. The Lancers' last minute attempts resulted in two runs before ending the game.

Reed ended the competition 2-2 at the plate with two runs and two RBI. Jones also went 2-2 at the plate while Camez was 2-3.
