Slow Scoring for the Warriors Results in a 4-1 Loss to Mt. SAC

TORRANCE, Calif. - The Warriors hosted the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties on Tuesday afternoon, who went home with a 4-1 win. The Mounties (6-0) continue their season undefeated while the Warriors are now 4-2. Ashley Machado hit the RBI that brought home Kattya Calderon for the only run for the Warriors.

The Mounties got on the board in the third inning with a run, and the Warriors then responded with one of their own. With no runs in the fourth inning, the Mounties went on to strike three runs at the top of the fifth.

With bases loaded, Ronni Silas was up to bat with two outs. She was then struck out by the Mounties' pitcher to end the inning with no runs for the Warriors. El Camino also came close to scoring at the bottom of the seventh, but unfortunately was unable to make any runs to end the game.

Coach Jessica Rapoza commented on the team's efforts, "I thought we did a good job making adjustments to the pitcher we just took too long to make those adjustments."

She continued, "We basically gave up two entire innings with just easy pop ups instead of hitting the ball hard on the ground. I also think we can improve by getting the timely hits when runners are in scoring position. We left way too many runners on when we knew it would be a low scoring game."

The Warriors continue play on Thursday, February 16th as they travel to Pasadena City College. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30pm, the Warriors are back home on Friday to face off against Cypress.
