No. 15 Softball Starts Season on the Right Foot With 27-6 Victory Over Golden West

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Ranked 15th in State, the Warriors started off their season in a stunning five innings win over Golden West College, 27-6.

"We came out with a lot of good energy and good contact offensively. Sophomores showed really good leadership in game management," commented Coach Jessica Rapoza. "For our first game we played pretty consistent overall."

Kamryn Fisher had a great day at the plate going 2-3, hitting a home run which was a three run homer, and 4 runs batted in. Taylor Richter ended 5-5 with a triple and four runs batted in. Alyssa Wing went 2-3 and three runs batted in while Jazmyn Sancen went 3-3.

The Warriors face Ventura College on Tuesday at 2:30pm in their first home game of the season. Coach Rapoza is looking forward to practice on Monday in preparation for the match up. "When you continuously practice against your own team your weaknesses aren't as exploited as when you compete against another team. I am excited to work on some of our unforseen weaknesses on Monday."

"We will come out stronger with good practice. Ventura is a good team, they are feisty and always put up a good game."
