Men's Cross Country Finishes Fourth; Women Compete at Palomar Invitational

Oceanside, Calif. - Sophomore Michael Moody led the men's team to a fourth place finish at the Palomar Invitational at Guajome Park on Friday. 

Moody finished the four-mile course in 21:54, good for 18th overall. Sophomore Israel Cardona earned a 19th-place finish (21:54) with sophomore Solomon Kanehailua finishing 27th in 22:17.

On the women's side, freshman Brianna Harmon finished 19th overall in the field of 98, finishing in 20:51 on the 5,000-meter course. Freshman Lucero Mejia finished 40th (22:51), while sophomore Victoria Shanks-Portor rounded out the top three with a 51st-place finish in 24:25.
The cross country team will compete next in the Southern California Preview Invitational on Friday, Sept. 16 at Irvine Regional Park. The women will race at 11 a.m. with the men following at 12 p.m.
