Five Players Earn Men’s Water Polo All-Conference Honors

2023 Men's Water Polo All-South Coast Conference Team

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had four players selected to the 2023 All-South Coast Conference Men's Water Polo Team with one honorable mention, it was announced Monday.

Marc Bugarin, Scott Fujiwara, Heitor Trefilio and Tyler Reed were named All-SCC with Blake Klade earning honorable mention.

Bugarin and Fujiwara each earned All-SCC First Team nods in their freshman campaigns with the Warriors. Bugarin led the team in scoring with 92 goals. He also added 23 assists with 68 steals and 15 field blocks while drawing 58 exclusions.

Fujiwara led the Warriors with 89 steals and tied for the lead with 20 field blocks. He also added 52 goals to rank third on the team while dishing out 50 assists, good for second on the squad.

Trefilio and Reed each earned spots on the All-SCC Second Team this season. Trefilio was second on the team with 60 goals and led the way with 54 assists. He also added 67 steals and tied for the team lead with 20 field blocks.

Reed was fifth on the Warriors with 33 goals and third on the team with 44 assists. He recorded 44 steals and added 10 field blocks while drawing 18 exclusions on the season.

Klade earned honorable mention as he played in all 29 matches for the Warriors and scored 47 goals to go with 24 assists. He had 18 steals, drew 32 exclusions and added seven field blocks.

The Warriors went 11-18 on the season and 2-5 in conference play. They finished fourth at the SCC Championships.
