Warriors Split Second Day of the Saddleback Invitational

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors men's water polo team split the second day of the Saddleback Invitational.  They defeated Palomar College in the first game before falling to Southwestern for the second time in two weeks.  The Warriors went 2-2 at the Saddleback Tournament.  

El Camino College 11, Palomar 10

A huge fourth quarter comeback led the Warriors to defeating Palomar College in the first game of the day.  After the Warriors led 6-5 at the half, the Comets had a big third quarter where they went up 10-7 over the Warriors. The Warriors scored 4 goals and shutout Palomar for the 4th quarter to earn the narrow win over the Comets.

Bronson Garel scored a team high 4 goals in the game including the game winner.  Caio Vieira scored three goals with two in the fourth quarter including his game tying goal.  He also led the team with three assists.  Garel, Lincoln Brydon, and Gary Bellingham each had three steals.  Bellingham also made 11 saves in the game.

El Camino College 9, Southwestern 12

The Warriors lost the second game of the day 12-9 against Southwestern College.  They lost to the Jaguars for the third time this season after falling to them at the Mt. Sac tournament and the Cesar Chavez Tournament hosted by Southwestern.

Zackary Johnson led the Warriors with three goals  and Aidan Gutierrez led the team with two assists.  Gary Bellingham had a big game in the cage making 16 saves on 28 shots.
