El Camino College headed to the Mount San Antonio College Tournament on Friday afternoon and split its first two games against Southwestern and Citrus.

ECC 11, Southwestern 7

The Warriors jumped out to a 7-1 lead after one quarter and never looked back and six different players scored a goal including four with multiple-goal efforts. Seth Ulrich led the way with three goals on six shots while Kyle Thorne, Matthew Thorne and Ikaika Napohaku added two goals each. Sam Waters and Hector Ramirez rounded out the scoring for the Warriors.

Brandon Soto got the win, making nine saves in three quarters before giving way to Ryan Steck in the final period.

Citrus 11, ECC 2

In their final game of the day, the Warriors had a tough time getting any offense going as they were shutout in the first half by the Owls. The Warriors trailed 5-0 at halftime before Logan Doersam scored both of his goals in the third period while the defense held Citrus to one in the frame, leaving the Warriors in striking distance heading to the last quarter.

But the Owls shutout ECC again in the fourth quarter and put the game away win five more goals in the period.

Soto made 11 saves for ECC in a losing effort while Waters had an assist on one of Doersam's goals.

The Warriors will wrap up the tournament Saturday as they are slated to face Rio Hondo and Fullerton.
