Men’s Volleyball Earns No. 2 Seed, Hosts Grossmont in Opening Round of Playoffs

El Camino College earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 2019 California Community College Athletic Association Men's Volleyball State Championships Playoffs, it was announced Monday.

The Warriors (16-2) will host No. 7 seed Grossmont in the opening round of the playoffs on Friday, April 19 at 6 p.m. at the ECC South Gym.

The winner of the match will advance to the CCCAA State Championships at Fullerton College beginning on Thursday, April 25.

The Warriors earned the No. 2 seed after finishing with the second best record in the state, dropping only two matches to undefeated and No. 1 seeded Orange Coast and a conference match to Long Beach, the No. 3 seed.

The Griffins took the No. 7 seed after winning the Pacific Coast Conference with a 5-1 conference mark. The team finished the season with an 8-9 overall record.

The Warriors and Griffins did not face each other in 2019.
