Women Ninth, Men 15th At State

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – The men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the state championships at East LA over the weekend. The women finished ninth with 160 points while the men were 15th, 61 points.

The women's 200 medley relay teamnof Macielle Osterling, Tiffany Oliver, Kjahna O and Martina Exlerova placed fifth in a new school record time of 1:50.83. Exlerova's anchor was the fastest split in school history.

The 200 freestyle relay of O, Exlerova, Doyle and Tiffany Oliver placed sixth (1:40.85).

Exlerova placed sixth individually in the 50 free (24.55) and eighth in the 200 back (2:12.75). Her time of 2:10.79 in the 200 back prelims was a new school record.

The men were led by diver Shane Guerrero who was fourth on the 1M (243.90) and seventh on the 3M (190.15).

Hogan Inscore placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke in a tight race. His time of 57.74 was just .4 off of the winner, Jeremy Garden from Golden West (57.34).

In the 100 backstroke, David Thomas placed sixth (52.73).
