Warriors Fight Back for Draw At Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Playing under the lights at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the El Camino College Warriors had to rally from a 1-0 deficit to finish the game all squared at 1-1 on Tuesday evening in Long Beach, Calif. 

The game between the Warriors (8-1-2) and the Vikings (4-7-4) was a pretty even match between both teams.  The Vikings outshot the Warriors (11 to 8) however, the Warriors had multiple chances in the second half to finish off the game but missed by a few inches each time.

Long Beach took a 1-0 lead late in the first half after Jaelyn Agu found Gustavo Cervantas for the first goal of the game in the 42nd minute.

The Warriors would respond early in the second half after Ricky Andrade was mauled down inside the box for a penalty. Jordan Lopez-Perez calmly slotted the ensuing penalty kick to the opposite side of the Long Beach keeper to make it a 1-1 game.  

The Warriors had two good looks on goal from Kalyl Silva and Gabriel Herrera that sailed wide right in the second half.

Luis Garibay was credited with two saves for the game. 

The Warriors will head back home to host Rio Hondo College on Friday, October 18th.  Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
