The El Camino College men's soccer team fantastic start to the season has given the Warriors some national recognition as they have been ranked as the No.8 team in the latest United Soccer Coaches NJCAA DIII Poll. They previously clocked in as the No.11 team in the same poll. 

Of the top 20 teams ranked, there are 12 teams from the California Community College Athletic Association.   The Warriors are ranked as the fourth ranked team from Southern California behind #1 Mt. Sac, #4 Cerritos, and #7 Oxnard College

The Warriors are also ranked as the No.6 team in the latest CCCSIA poll.  They are the fourth ranked Southern California team behind #1 Cerritos, #2 Mt. SAC, and #3 Oxnard.  

The Warriors are off to one of their best starts since 2004.  The Warriors are 6-0-1 through the first six weeks of the season. This is the first time the Warriors have gone undefeated into the month of October (no historical archive found from before the 2004 season).  They have outscored opponents 16 goals to 2 goals allowed.

The Warriors defeated Chaffey College on Tuesday, who had a 6-1-1 record going into the match.  

The Warriors have at least four players with six points.  Oliver Diaz leads the teams with 7 points (3 goals, 1 assist).  Eduardo Grados has 6 points (2 goals, 2 assists). Larry Lopez has 6 points (2 goals, 2 assists).  Melvyn Perez-Cortez has six points (3 goals). Luis Garibay has been fantastic in goal for the Warriors. Garibay has allowed just two goals in 630 minutes and has a miniscule 0.29 goals against average.  Garibay has made 22 saves and owns a .917 save percentage. Garibay and the stellar defense have kept five clean sheets so far this season.

The Warriors will head to Bakersfield College on Tuesday, October 1st for their next game. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
