Six Warriors Receive All-South Coast Conference Honors

TORRANCE, CALIF. - Six El Camino College players were given All-South Coast Conference honors, as the All-South Coast teams were announced on Wednesday morning.  

El Camino College had three players honored for the All-South Coast Conference South Division First Team and three players honored for the All-South Coast Conference South Division Second Team.  

Kevin Negrete was named to the All-SCC South First Team.  Despite only playing in thirteen games and missing the start of the season, in his first year with the Warriors, Negrete led the team with 8 goals and two of them were game-winning goals.  He also had one assist for the season. He was tied for fourth in the conference with his 8 goals. Negrete led the Warriors with 17 points.

Oliver Diaz was named to the All-SCC South First Team.  Diaz was a rock in the defensive line for the Warriors. He had one assist and one goal for the season.  His lone goal came in the win vs Antelope Valley (9/21) and it was a game-winning goal.

Brian Burrell was named to the All-SCC South First Team.  Despite missing a few games to injury, the attacking midfielder played in 16 games for the Warriors.  One of the few sophomores on the roster, Burrell scored one goal and had three assists and had 5 points for the season.  His lone goal came in the game against Long Beach (10/26).

Brian Morales was named to the All-SCC South Second Team.  Morales played in 15 games for the Warriors and started in 11 of them, patrolling the midfield. Morales was tied for third for the team in points with 8.  He had three goals and two assists for the season, including one game winning goal. He scored in games vs Antelope Valley (9/21) and two vs East Los Angeles (10/12).  

Eduardo Grados was named to the All-SCC South Second Team.  Grados had a lighting fast start to the season after scoring a hat-trick against Citrus College (8/28).  He scored again in a win vs Moorpark (9/14). Grados was second in the team in points with 13. He led the team in assists with 5 and was tied for fifth in the conference in assists.  

Jean-Pierre Dejean Macksa was named to the All-SCC South Second Team.  The pacy forward played in 17 games and started in 13 of them. He scored three goals and had two assists for the season. Macksa had 8 points for the season.  He scored in games against LA Harbor (9/28), Compton (10/02), and Orange Coast (10/09).

The Warriors finished their inaugural season under first-year head coach Mike Jacobson with a 7-7-6 (2-3-3) record and just missed the CCCAA South playoffs.
