TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College's six game unbeaten streak was broken against Cerritos College on Friday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field.
The Warriors (4-3-3, 1-1-2) were outplayed at home against Cerritos College (8-1-1, 3-0-0) who shut the Warriors out 4-0.
Cerritos went ahead early in the game in the 9th minute when Brandon Pelayo scored on a loose ball in the box. The Falcons would add a goal nearly five minutes later when Pelayo dribbled to the endline and cut a pass back to Kevin Diaz inside the 6-yard box and Diaz slotted it past Andrew Argueta in goal.
Cerritos added a third goal almost immediately after the second half kickoff. Oscar Penate scored a goal after great passing from Bryan Rodriguez & Bryan Villalobos. Cerritos would add their final goal of the game in the 57th minute after Bryan Villalobos scored on a pass from Kevin Diaz.
The Warriors had their best chance to score in the game when Kevin Negrete shot from outside the 18-yard box and hit the crossbar in the 71st minute.
Andrew Argueta started in goal for the Warriors and made six saves.
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday for a non-conference game against Orange Coast College. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
