Grados Nets Hat Trick as Warriors Open Season with Win over Citrus

GLENDORA, Calif. -  Eduardo Grados scored three goals within the first fourteen minutes of the season to pace the Warriors in a 3-1 win over Citrus College.

First-year head coach Mike Jacobson picked up the win in his El Camino College (1-0) debut.  The Warriors started eleven new players playing in their first collegiate game in the win over Citrus College (0-1).   

Grados got on the board early after scoring a goal three minutes into the game.  He would pick up his second goal two minutes later after an assist from Andy Salguero.  And Grados finally capped off his hat-trick with his third goal coming in the fourteenth minute to give the Warriors a commanding 3-0 lead early in the first half.  

The Owls were able to peg one goal back in the last minute of play in the first half after Reymundo Orrosquieta scored a goal.  

The Warriors dominated in the first half registering eight shots compared to the Owls three shots.  In the second half, Citrus turned the tables around and outshot the Warriors eight to three.

Brandon Cardenas started in net for the Warriors and made four total saves.  

The Warriors played seventeen different players in Tuesday's game, with sixteen players making their El Camino College debut.  Jose Hernandez was the only player to have touched the field last season for the Warriors.

The Warriors return home to El Camino College on Friday afternoon for a 1:00 PM fixture against Santa Monica College.  It will be their only home game for the next month as they will play five road games before returning home again on September 28th.
