Yamamoto, Suk Wrap up Season at Regionals

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- Sophomores Bradley Yamamoto and Chan Woo Suk wrapped up the 2024 El Camino College men's golf season by competing at the 3C2A Southern California Regionals at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield, Calif.

The duo qualified for the event after having stellar seasons for the Warriors in Orange Empire Conference play. There were a part of a contingent of 12 individuals selected to compete along with nine full teams that participated in the SoCal Regionals.

Suk tied for 36th place in a field of 67 golfers as he shot a 14-over 158 over two days at Rio Bravo. He opened with a 5-over 77 during round one on Sunday before wrapping up with an 81 on Monday.

Yamamoto, the Warriors' scoring leader all season, opened the regionals with a 8-over 80 on Sunday and wrapped with an 82 on Monday to finish tied for 45th overall.

College of the Canyons took home the title with a 33-over 753 over the 36 holes, four strokes better than Cuyamaca and Cypress with Cypress securing second place due to a better score from their sixth golfer. Santa Barbara (768) and Bakersfield (774) rounded out the top five.

Tiger Tahvildari of Orange Coast College won the individual title with a 5-under 139. He shot a 70 on Sunday and then one-upped that with a 69 on day two. Ronny Zheng (-3; 141) and Berkecem Renda of Cypress (-1; 143) rounded out the top three scorers.
