Yamamoto Nets First Career Win, Warriors Finish Sixth at Temecula Creek

TEMECULA, Calif. --- Sophomore Bradley Yamamoto netted his first career first-place finish as El Camino College finished sixth at the second Orange Empire Conference Neutral Match of the season at Temecula Creek Golf Club on Monday.

Yamamoto shot a career-low round of 69 to tie for first place with Will Oates of Cypress to earn co-medalist honors. The 3-under score was Yamamoto's first ever sub-70 round in his two-year career with the Warriors and it was also his third top-10 finish this season. Yamamoto was one of five golfers to break par on Monday.

As a team, the Warriors had four players score in the 70s or better as the team shot a collective 379 on the day, tying their lowest score of the season. The 19-over par finish was also the team's best score relative to par of the year at the Par-72 course as the teams played the Creek (36) and Oaks (36) courses at Temecula Creek Golf Club.

The Warriors' score of 379 (+29) on March 25 was at the Par-70 Mesa Linda Golf Course in Costa Mesa.

Chan Woo Suk tied his season-best with a 3-over 75 to finish tied for 15th place. Daniel Crossan and Kevin Hikichi each carded a pair of 5-over 77's while Yvo Galvez rounded out the scoring with an 81.

Aaron Honigsfeld shot an 85 which was used for the tiebreaker against Orange Coast, which also shot a 379. The Pirates' sixth score proved to be the difference as they took home fifth place while the Warriors were sixth in the 10-team field.

The Warriors will return to Temecula Creek on Monday for the OEC Conference Finals, which will tee off at 7 a.m.
